After heavy snowfall in the Sierra over the weekend, I-80 and Highway 50 are to remain closed Monday to travelers.
According to Fox 40, Caltrans District 3 made the call early Monday morning due to "poor visibility, whiteout conditions and heavy snow."
California Highway Patrol Truckee shared an update via Twitter late Monday morning that I-80 is closed from Applegate to the Nevada State Line, and Highway 50 is closed from Placerville to Myers.
