You might have a Sacramento County check that you have yet to cash, and this is how to find out if you do.
According to Sacramento County's website, there are more than 8,000 uncashed checks totaling over $2.6 million. Checks may go uncashed if your current address is unknown to the county.
If a Sacramento County check hasn't been cashed for six or more months, then the information becomes available on the Unclaimed County Warrants (checks) site in a PDF. You can also search the County's Open Data portal to see if you have an uncashed check.
Sacramento County provides specific instructions on how to search those sites I just mentioned, which you can find here.
