The Canadian singer mistakenly revealed the news in a newly-published Vanity Fair cover story. Apparently, the magazine’s writer heard an infant crying during the profile interview and inquired about the noise – since the couple’s first child was with Musk. "I don’t know. I don’t know what I was thinking," Grimes told Vanity Fair, while trying to conceal the newborn baby.
Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, confirmed that the baby girl was born in December via surrogate. She also revealed that the baby’s name is Exa Dark Sideræl, but her nickname is Y. The on-again couple also have a 1-year-old son named X Æ A-XII aka X.

Grimes and Elon Musk previously split in 2021, after dating for three years. “We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,” Musk said in a statement at the time according to US Weekly. Now the family of four live in Austin, Texas, where Musk conducts most of his business for SpaceX and Tesla.
