Social media is full of people showing off their travel experiences, with many traveling to specific locations in search of the perfect photo.

As more and more of these go viral and rack up social media likes, other travelers save them in hopes of replicating the photos and poses.

Now, in response to all these copycat travelers, New Zealand has released a video shaming photo seekers and encouraging them to “share something new.”

According to CNN, travelers are urged to stop traveling "under the social influence."

Comedian Tom Sainsbury stars in the video as a member of the "Social Observation Squad,” who follows tourists to some of the country’s most famous landscapes.

“I've been alerted to a situation that's been happening a lot lately. People have been seeing those photos on social media, and they're going to great lengths to copy them,” Sainsbury states in the video.

He lists a bunch of cliche posts you've likely encountered while passively swiping through your feed: "You know them. Hot tub back shot. Man sits quietly on the rock contemplating. Hot dog legs."

The cheeky and now-viral video is part of the country's long-running "Do Something New" campaign, which also included a song by local celebrities Madeleine Sami and Jackie van Beek.

However, the outlet notes the timing is a bit awkward with COVID-19 travel restrictions in place and New Zealand's borders closed down to tourists.

"Given the risks in the world around us and the uncertainty of the global rollout of the vaccine, we can expect our borders to be impacted for much of this year," Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Tuesday in a conference.

I guess those banal yet Insta-worthy selfies and snaps will have to wait.
