Sabres add to goaltending, acquiring Malcolm Subban from Chicago

(WGR 550) – The Buffalo Sabres picked up some goaltending help on Thursday, acquiring Malcolm Subban from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for future considerations. Essentially, the Sabres acquire Subban for nothing.

The 27-year-old has appeared in 82 NHL games for the Boston Bruins, Vegas Golden Knights and Blackhawks. He’s 36-31-8 with a 3.02 goals against and .899 saves percentage.


Boston took Subban in the 2012 draft with the 24th overall pick. This season he’s only appeared in five AHL games with the Rockford IceHogs going 2-2-1 with a 3.38 goals against and .893 save percentage.
