Police called on Dallas artist for gory Halloween decorations

A Dallas artist has a put together a gory Halloween-themed display in front of his house, and it was so realistic and disturbing to some that police were called.

Steven Novak's lives in the M Streets area of east Dallas and his Halloween decorations this year included several dead bodies strewn about his yard with pools of blood around them, filling up his entire front walkway.

Some of his neighbors weren't amused and the called the Dallas police. "They told me they thought it was cool and that they were only there because they were required to reply to complaints from the sergeant" Novak said.

One of the fake bodies in his display has a chainsaw lodged in its back, right next to a wheelbarrow full of bloody body parts. Another body hangs from his roof, just above the front door of his home, with a machete sticking out of it. One even has it's head smashed under a safe.

As if that wasn't enough, 20 gallons of fake blood is splattered all over his sidewalk, front porch, and all over his front yard.

Novak says he plans to have an even bigger display next year.
