A man who allegedly broke into an Oakland County, Michigan doughnut shop was arrested after police said they followed his footprints in the snow.
The break-in happened early Tuesday at the Avon Doughnut Shop in Pontiac. Deputies said they arrived at the scene to find a shattered glass door, an empty cash register and a bloody chunk of concrete.
Acting on a hunch, police said they followed a trail of footprints in the snow that led away from the store. The footprints ended at a nearby house.
Police found inside a 51-year-old man with a bloody cut on his hand, shoes that they said matched the footprints and $100 cash in hand. The money was allegedly stolen from the shop.
The man was arrested and is expected to face charges.
