“We’re bringing our top 12 down tonight and they’re going to watch the show and have fun,” Luke told Audacy’s Rob + Holly ahead of his performance. “Pretty cool stuff.”
Bryan teased the field trip during last week’s live show, to which Katy Perry joked she’d come along. Turns out that didn’t happen, but Luke made clear it’s not because she didn’t receive an invite.
“Katy did not come, she wouldn’t come,” Luke said with disappointment. “Lionel [Richie] did not come, Ryan [Seacrest] is not here. I sent the invite out, but they uh, [declined].”
Idol’s top 12 will perform for America’s vote this week following their trip to the desert. Tune in Sunday and Monday at 7pm CT/8p ET on ABC to see the performances.
