Down in Atlanta, Audacy's Big Tigger checked in with none other than Cardi B to talk all things new as her latest single "Bongos" drops, and she's been hinting at an upcoming album.

LISTEN NOW: Cardi B talks with Big Tigger

It's been five years since Cardi's Invasion of Privacy and there hasn't been much talk of a full-length project coming from her soon-- until recently. While talking to Big Tigger she revealed that fans can "totally" be expecting a new album. "I'm not playing around," she said. "I'm going to drop a couple of singles and then it's going straight to an album."

Fingers crossed the album will be here next year in the first quarter, according to Cardi.

Her newest effort, "Bongos," features Megan Thee Stallion, making this their second collaborative effort together following the 2020 release of "WAP," which sparked national controversy. Talking about how "Bongos" came about, Cardi shared it was really her idea and it came to her after listening to dozens of beats and not feeling inspired by any of them. "This beat was very unique," she said about the funk-type track. But, when working on it by herself she said she felt like it "was too spaced out," so she ended up asking her team who else would be good on this song and all the signs pointed to Meg.

"I sent her the record, she loved it, she turned it in like right away like in five days... that just made me know that she really liked it," she said, adding "that made me feel good."

Seeing the obvious musical chemistry the two have, Tigger asked if there could be a collab album in the future, and she said "I think that would be dope, I wouldn't mind doing that," adding "we mix up too smooth." Reminiscing on the past two projects they've worked on she said "when we get together we be working hard."

But that doesn't mean the Bronx native hasn't been keeping herself busy. From jumping on her husband Offset's track "Jealousy," to Latto's "Put It On the Floor Again," she's been delivering fire features from left to right.

Dubbed as a "girl's girl," Cardi says she's really not, she's just a girl, who is naturally going to gravitate towards girls. "When I do a song with these girls it's because I really like y'all songs and like if I like your music and I like your sound like let's do something together," Cardi said.
