New Orleans rapper, Curren$y sat down with Audacy to help us commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop with another installment of Hip-Hop Made where he shared what song made him fall in love with the genre and what it means to him.

LL Cool J’s 1987 single, "I'm BAD” is what made Curren$y fall in love with Hip-Hop. While he had heard other rap songs before, they just didn’t hit the way ‘I’m BAD” did, “that was the one that stuck with me,” he shared.

His heart of service is what drove him to Hip-Hop and wanting to create music he says. To him Hip-Hop means a way out of the struggle and being able to uplift those around him. “To get into this game and change people’s lives… that's kinda what was drawing me to do it.” He originally wanted to change people's lives by going to the NBA but quickly realized his talent in music and pursued that instead.
