On Tuesday, Halle Berry gave her fans a rare glimpse into her family life by sharing throwback photos of her daughter Nahla to celebrate her 13th birthday.
The 54-year-old actress and model, who has been private with family pics in the past, shared the picture with her 6.8 million Instagram followers.
"No matter how many times I tell her I love her, I love her more than that. Happy 13th Birthday Nahla Boo," Berry captioned the pic.
Nahla is the daughter of Berry and her ex Gabriel Aubry. Berry is also mother to her 7-year-old son Maceo, whose father is ex-husband Olivier Martinez.
In the past, the Oscar winner has said that she is very hesitant to show images of her children in order to protect their privacy.
"I've fought really hard to protect their privacy, and I just want them to have their life and have it be theirs," she told TODAY in 2019.
In 2013, Berry testified before the California State Assembly Committee on Public Safety alongside actress Jennifer Garner about the need to protect young children from paparazzi, Today reported. She told the politicians that Nahla "doesn't want to go to preschool anymore. Why? Because these 25 grown men are there. ... We're moms here, just trying to protect our children."
In February the actress spoke during a virtual panel at the Sundance Film Festival on how she wants to make sure her son understands gender stereotypes.
"I have a 7-year-old son, and I have realized what my job is in raising him. If we want to have a future that's different, that is where it starts," Berry said. "You made me think of how many conversations I've had with him, say, since he's turned 5 years old, about the differences in boys and girls, and I see how he's taught to feel like he's superior, at 5, than girls are."
