In commemoration of the expected landing of JPL’s NASA Mars rover, Krispy Kreme has created a unique doughnut -- just for today.
The new “Mars Doughnut” is red (of course), filled with chocolate cream, and "dipped in caramel icing with a Red Planet swirl and sprinkled with chocolate cookie crumbs."
"The landing of Perseverance on Mars will be an epic and important achievement," Krispy Kreme Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena said in a statement unveiling the doughnut.
"So, we're celebrating the best way we know how: with an amazing new doughnut discovery right here on Earth."
Also, if you’re one of the roughly 10.9 million people who signed up to have their names carried to Mars aboard the rover, you’ll get your doughnut for free.
All you have to do is show your Perseverance "boarding pass” to the red planet.
