Krispy Kreme is embracing the caramel craze for the first time ever.
The doughnut chain is offering two new limited-time menu items – Caramel Glazed Doughnut and Caramel Crunch Doughnut – starting November 9 through November 22.
The Caramel Glazed Doughnut is a twist on the classic Original Glazed® Doughnut covered in rich caramel glaze.
The Salted Double Caramel Crunch Doughnut is dipped in caramel icing, but topped with salted crunch toppings as well.
The official Krispy Kreme Instagram promoted the new doughnut flavors alongside a mesmerizing video showing how the baked items are glazed.
Per the press release, “Caramel is the latest in a lineup of innovative glaze flavors Krispy Kreme has introduced in recent years, including chocolate, lemon, blueberry, strawberry and coffee.”
“There are a lot of caramel lovers out there and if you’re one of them, this doughnut is going to blow your mind,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme.
Skena referred to 2020 when hyping up the treat, stating, “It’s been a year, to say the least. You’ve earned it.”
Many fans on Twitter echoed those sentiments, writing: "Finally some good news in 2020."
Earlier this month, the chain introduced mini doughnuts, four pumpkin spice doughnuts and brought back chocolate glazed doughnuts for one day only.
