A fan eagerly expressed, "you winning right now Keyshia your new single is buzzing up the charts you should be top 20 next week! Stay focused u got this!!" To which Keyshia solemnly replied, "I'm retiring.." Fans immediately began to speculate whether or not she was hacked, but the "Love" singer revealed that she was not hacked and her reason for retiring is simple: her children.
The singer is contractually obligated to complete her eighth (and final) album with BMG, but don't expect a rushed release. She expressed, "I’m gonna have to move at my pace with this one." While she may be done with releasing new music, she did make it clear that touring and performing will always be an option.
Following her highly-anticipated VERZUZ with fellow R&B songbird, Ashanti, the Oakland native released “I Don’t Wanna Be In Love." For nearly twenty years, Cole's chart-topping singles and albums have been the soundtrack to love and heartbreak. Despite her deciding to retire, "we’ll always have the released music. And the next project."
