After months of rumors, Disney has made it official; Indiana Jones will once again be returning to the big screen.

For the fifth time, Harrison Ford will return to play the iconic character, 41 years after the original, ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ was released, CNN reported.

The film will be produced by Lucasfilm and is expected to be released in July of 2022.

The announcement was made in a tweet sent out by Disney over the weekend during the company’s investor presentation.

“Lucasfilm is in pre-production on the next installment of Indiana Jones. At the helm is James @Mang0ld, director of Ford v Ferrari, and Indy himself, Harrison Ford, will be back to continue his iconic character’s journey. Adventure arrives July 2022,” said the tweet.

Not much is known about the latest Indiana Jones reboot, as the film is still in “pre-production.” However, with confirmation that Harrison Ford will be back, many fans are already getting excited to see the latest installment. 2022 can’t come soon enough.
