I'm Listening 2021: Shakira is urging us to ‘live in the present’

As we are just a few days away from Audacy’s fifth annual I’m Listening broadcast, taking place at 6PM, on Thursday, September 23 on all Audacy stations, and on the Audacy app, Shakira shared some wise words about how the pandemic has put new goals with her music and mental health into perspective.

The iconic artist shares, “We’ve learned to seize the moments, seize the day, and I feel in a way that has changed us all.”

Urging us to live in the “present,” the “Don’t Wait Up” artist says, “that’s what I’m doing musically, artistically, whatever comes up, if I feel good about it I just want to share it.”

She laughs, “I want that instant gratification, I don’t want to wait for me to get in the studio for two years and prepare an album because then I’ll never be able to share that music because I take forever in the studio.” Shakira continues to explain, “I get into a level of detail that at some point could be tedious for everybody around me, and for even myself.”
