With so many issues to deal with on a daily basis, sometimes city officials are forced to put certain things on the back burner in order to address more urgent matters. However, when the entire country becomes aware of those issues, often thy get bumped up to the top of the list. That's exactly what happened this week in Dallas, as a viral video showing a major water leak forced the city to address the issue that has been ongoing since October.
This is one of the BIGGEST scandals in #Dallas TX, maybe ever, and NO ONE is talking about it!!!
Our city officials must be investigated over this!!! pic.twitter.com/KO41CLCFhH

Last weekend, video went viral showing someone in Dallas kayaking through a flooded section of Dallas' Great Trinity Forest that created a water hole that's 30 to 40 feet across and 20 feet deep. The water appears clear in the video, as it came from a leak of water meant for Dallas Water Utilities customers for drinking, bathing, and cooking. According to Fox 4 News, the leak came from a 30-inch underground pipeline behind the Rochester Levee off the CF Hawn freeway.
The city says the pipeline has leaked 3.6 million gallons since October 2022. Luckily, work on the leak finally began this week and will take several weeks to complete. Sadly, those hoping to swim in Dallas' clear water swamp won't have much time to do so.
