Lululemon might be in a slewlululemon of legal trouble after Texas Attorney Ken Paxton has launched an investigation over the brand’s potential presence of “forever chemicals” in their clothing.
According to KXAN, Paxton’s office says the investigation will look into whether Lululemon’s athletic apparel contains per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, which have been linked to health issues including endocrine disruption, infertility, and cancer.
These substances, known as “PFAS,” are also often referred to as “forever chemicals” because they do not break down easily in the environment or the human body.
The investigation will look into if Lululemon misled customers into believing their products were free from chemicals associated with health risks.
The investigation will also review “the company’s restricted substances list, testing practices, and supply chain protocols to determine whether its products comply with the safety standards the company claims to follow.”
