It's only getting more expensive to raise a child in Dallas.
According to a new report from Smart Asset, the cost of raising a child in Dallas in 2025 is $22,337 a year, a 1.87% increase from $21,926 in 2024.
According to CultureMap Dallas, the study analyzed the 48 biggest metropolitan areas in the U.S. and looked at each metro's total included the cost for childcare, additional housing costs, food, transportation, medical costs, and "other necessities."
Dallas had the second-highest costs for raising a child out of the four biggest Texas metros, only behind Austin.
However, Dallas ranked low nationally, coming in at No. 38 of 48.
Boston-Cambridge-Newton, Massachusetts had the highest annual cost of raising a child in the nation, totaling more than $39,000, up from $37,758 in 2024.
