
With live music still on hold, many have turned to the internet to get their concert fix over the last year. Luckily, along with live stream concerts, there are quite a few classic performances from iconic bands available to view online. Now, using the data revealed from these online viewings, it has been determined that Queen’s 1985 Live Aid set is the most popular live performance of all time.
Online box office site TicketSource recently set out to determine; what is the most popular concert performance of all time, using data from Google and YouTube. Based on the numbers; they were able to determine that Queen’s Live Aid set is the most popular, and it’s not even close. According to the data, Queen’s iconic concert has 136,901,300 YouTube views, 4,812,000 YouTube searches and 1,427,500 Google searches.
According to Musicradar.com, 4.8 million people have searched for Queen’s set at Live Aid. Coming in second was Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s 2020 Super Bowl performance, followed by a number of other halftime shows and classic concerts such as The Beatles at Shea Stadium, and Nirvana’s Unplugged performance. However, now we know; none of these can top Freddie Mercury.
