It has been over 25 years since Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain passed away, yet like many fans, former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl still thinks about the iconic singer regularly. Now, the Foo Fighters frontman has revealed he has been having a reoccurring dream that features Cobain and a concert gone wrong. While Grohl said the dream always starts out nice, it eventually turns sour as the two take the stage.

According to Grohl, he is always happy at first when Cobain appears in his dreams, but the repetitive scenario always turns negative as the two start to perform a Nirvana concert. “There’s no one in the audience and my drum sticks stretch to the size of telephone poles,” said Grohl of his dream. While the dream inevitably goes to that uncomfortable place, Grohl said he feels they are “more than just dreams.”

“I honestly believe there is some energy or interconnectivity that makes those encounters more than just dreams. I’m not a psychic or anything like that. But I do believe there’s an energy to those dreams that makes them more than hallucinations,” said Grohl. Hopefully one day the dream changes, but Cobain remains in Grohl’s mind.
