One of the main reasons for DFW’s success and growth in recent years are all the business opportunities throughout the metroplex. Not only have numerous companies moved to North Texas in recent years, but some homegrown companies have become some of America’s most successful as well. Now, four companies with DFW ties have been included on Time’s list of the 100 most influential companies for 2023.
Time Magazine has been publishing their list of the 100 most influential companies in the world since 2021, and the 2023 edition was released Wednesday. This year, only the San Francisco Bay area, New York, Los Angeles and London had more businesses on the list than DFW. From the metroplex, Time included Cost Plus Drugs, Colossal Biosciences, Therabody and Lockheed Martin.
According to Dallas Morning News, the list was broken down into categories: leaders, disrupters, innovators, titans and pioneers. The Mark Cuban-backed Cost Plus Drugs and the DFW-based Colossal Biosciences were listed as disrupters, while Therabody, known for their Theragun massage gun, made the innovator category. Lockheed Martin was included for its rocket launch system that is produced in Grand Prairie. With these companies, DFW will likely continue to grow for years to come.
