We are none too pleased with how North Texas ranked on this latest list from WalletHub.

WalletHub analyzed the 150 biggest metropolitan areas in the country to determine which cities across the nation were the most educated and uneducated.  Unfortunately, Texas did not score too well.

Together, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington ranked as the 72nd most educated area in the country, with a total score for the region is 54.92 out of 100.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, on educational attainment, Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington ranked 73 out of 150.

For quality of education and attainment gap, DFW ranked 67 out of 150.

The only metro in Texas ranked in the top ten most-educated was Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown, coming in at No. 8 with a total score of 78.12.

Unfortunately, it appears the entire state needs to catch up on their studies.  The Lone Star State made several appearances on the list as some of the most uneducated areas in the country:

No. 8: Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown
No. 72: Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington
No. 84: Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land
No. 103: San Antonio-New Braunfels
No. 120: Killeen-Temple
No. 136: El Paso No.
141: Corpus Christi
No. 143: Beaumont-Port Arthur
No. 148: Brownsville-Harlingen
No. 149: McAllen-Edinburg-Mission
