With summer upon us, many are starting to plan their summer vacations, and for plenty that will include road trips around the country. Luckily, there are plenty of great tourists attractions across the United States, including the 10,000 state parks located throughout the country. Now, vacation rental search engine HomeToGo has released their annual list of 21 best state parks, and Texas landed four spots on the list.
HomeToGo’s list was compiled based on the number of annual park visitors, the size of each park in acres, the number of activities on offer, the species diversity of plants and animals, the number of offers available nearby on HomeToGo, and the average nightly price for accommodation. According to Dallas Culture Map, the four Texas parks on the list are; Garner State Park at number seven, Brazos Bend State Park at number 11, Kickapoo Cavern State Park at number 12 and Caddo Lake State Park at number 15.
The 10,000 state parks in the United States stretch across 18.6 million acres, as they see more than 813 million visitors every year, according to the National Association of State Park Directors. That means plenty more visitors coming to Texas this year. It’s only a matter of time before Texas claims the top spot on the list.
