The temperatures have finally dropped in DFW and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the city of Grapevine. That’s because this week the Christmas Capital of Texas will be opening the biggest outdoor ice rink in all of North Texas. The 4,500 square feet rink will remain open throughout the holiday season.
On Friday, the city of Grapevine will open The Peace Plaza Ice Rink for the holiday season. Located in front of Grapevine Main Station, near the city's 50-foot-tall Christmas tree, the ice rink will remain open until January 8. "We’re thrilled to add this magnificent new attraction, and we look forward to the fun holiday memories visitors will create at the Peace Plaza Ice Rink,” said PW McCallum, Executive Director of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau.

According to Fox 4 News, tickets for the ice rink will be $20 for an hour of skating. Private skating time is also available for $500 an hour. With this new ice rink, winter has officially begun in DFW.
