The chances of getting struck by lightning are extremely low, which makes what happened in Oklahoma recently as close to impossible as it gets. During a recent thunderstorm, a fire department received a call that ended up being one of the strangest they’ve ever received. An apartment complex claimed a bolt of lightning somehow traveled inside, striking and completely destroying a toilet inside the apartment.

On Thursday, the Okmulgee Fire Department in Okmulgee, Oklahoma shared photos of a shattered and burned toilet. According to their now viral post, the toilet was destroyed by lightning. While many couldn’t believe lightning was able to enter the home without damaging anything else, the fire department claimed it entered the home through a vent in the roof.

“Thankfully, no one lived in this apartment” the fire department said in their now viral post. According to Bro Bible, it is believed the lightning bolt slipped through a vent and presumably followed either the metal or water to the toilet. After this story, people may want to avoid the bathroom during the next thunderstorm.
