Earlier this month, Denton woman Carly Swim was working from home when she got a hankering for McDonald's, so she placed a DoorDash order for some McDonald's. It arrived at her doorstep as it always does, she got it off the porch as she always does, and went about her day.
That was until a few hours later when a man making repairs on her home told Swim she had some food waiting for her on the porch. It was more McDonald's.
But Swim didn't place this order, so she posted on her neighborhood's Facebook group to see if someone had mistakenly put her address on their McDonald's order.
A couple of hours later, more food appeared on her porch. It was the same meal as before, a Quarter Pounder with cheese, fries, and a drink. Again, she posted to Facebook.
In the weeks since those surprise deliveries, there have been some 20 unsolicited McDonald's orders in the Idiot's Hill neighborhood Swim lives in, order ranging from cheeseburgers, fries, Quarter Pounders, and Egg McMuffins.

Swim told D Magazine, "We're all kind of laughing at each other, but I guess there's a little part of you that's hoping you're not laughing at somebody getting scammed."
She can't speak for others, but Swim didn't eat the two extra Quarter Pounders that were dropped off at her doorstep, for fear they were tampered with.
"I hope that it's just a fluke for a little while and then it tapers off like any good joke," she said. "I told everybody yesterday that I'm going to laugh if anyone dresses like a burger for Halloween."
