With gas prices remaining over $3.00 throughout the country, many have been forced to cut back on how much they are driving. Of course, some don’t have that option, which is why a church in Waco decided to do something to help out their fellow drivers. As part of their 5th annual Serve Day, Glory Bell church bought down the price at a local gas station to $0.99 over the weekend.
On Saturday, drivers in Waco were treated to a nice surprise, as Buzzy Bee on 12th and Waco was selling gas for $0.99 per gallon. The low prices were part of Glory Bell Church’s annual event giving back to the community. “We want to meet practical needs, but we also get to pray over every family that comes through, every car,” said Ashley Martin, one of Glory Bell church’s co-pastors.
According to KWTV, the event ran from 9AM to 11AM on Saturday, as the church was hoping to help over 300 families. While lines were long, many were willing to wait in order to fill up for $0.99. Now, the church will have to find a way to top this generosity next year.
