Businesses moving to Texas in recent years have led to plenty of new residents. However, while some locals aren’t too thrilled with people moving in from other states, it’s not as bad as what one neighborhood in Waxahachie is currently dealing with. Thanks to a new business that recently moved to the area, the neighborhood has been swarmed by gnats.

The Katy Lake neighborhood of Waxahachie has been dealing with an unexpected nuisance recently, as homes and yards have been invaded by gnats. One homeowner in the area claims the issue is so bad, he can’t eat or drink anything without swallowing one. According to NBC DFW, the city is blaming a plastic recycling company that moved into the area a few months back.

While the city has warned the business, telling them they have 30 days to fix the issue or risk being forced to vacate the city, the issue is still ongoing. “This is horrid. We can't continue to live this way. My wife had surgery. She's had three casts on. Each cast they've taken off, she's had gnats inside her cast,” said homeowner Tom Hoffman. Hopefully the issue is resolved soon, or else Waxahachie may become the official home of gnats.
