Candy canes have been a holiday season staple for as long as most can remember. However, since not everyone is a fan of the classic peppermint flavor, over the years a number of variations have been released, so everyone can enjoy. Now, things may have been taken too far as this year one candy company is selling brisket flavored candy canes.
Christmas is only a few days away, which means many home are already full of candy canes. However, some may want to double check and make sure they got the correct flavor, because these days red and white stripes could taste like anything. According to New York Post, a peppermint oil shortage in 2021, along with supply chain issues, has caused a number of candy companies to get creative with their candy cane flavors.
Along with brisket flavored candy canes, some other strange flavors on the market this year include; hot dogs, sardines, ketchup, sour cream and onion and more. "My dream would be just like Willy Wonka to do a full meal of candy canes, where you started with the appetizer and worked your way to dessert," said Archie McPhee president David Wahl. Hopefully that dream is never achieved and the world can go back to normal candy cane flavors.
