Pro fisherman and YouTube star Ben Milliken is facing charges of tournament fraud after being arrested for fraud after competing in a tournament in Texas.
In February, Milliken caught a 13.15-pound largemouth bass at Lake Naconiche in Nacogdoches County and submitted the catch through the Texas Park and Wildlife Department's Toyota ShareLunker program.
Participants of the program are eligible to win prizes up to $10,000.
An investigation by the TPWD found that Milliken did not have a valid fishing license at the time of the catch and knowingly falsified the contest and tournament entry form.
Not only was Milliken disqualified from the tournament, he was also cited for fishing without a valid license, according to MySA.com.
Milliken posted a statement on his social media pages, explaining that his arrest was "due to a complete misunderstanding" and not related to any elite series or local fishing tournament he's participated in.
He stated, "In fact, the incident arose while I was recreationally fishing. And not in a tournament at all. I very much look forward to creating a video(s) explaining this entire situation. But due to ongoing investigation, it's best I wait."
