Dax Shepard is proud of his newly ripped physique.
The 46-year-old recently revealed he put on 24 pounds of muscle during quarantine in an attempt to reach Marvel superhero status.
Shepard discussed his body transformation on the latest episode of his “Armchair Expert” podcast alongside guests Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.

"In quarantine, I said to [my wife Kristen Bell], 'I've been waiting for 10 years for Marvel to call so that I'd have an excuse to get huge,' " Shepard explained. "And they're not gonna call. That ship sailed. I'm 46, they're not gonna call. So I just have to do it for my own amusement."
The “CHiPs” star elaborated on his fitness routine and other supplements he used to get jacked.
"I gained about 24 pounds, just six days a week, just lifting heavy [weights], protein shakes, going bananas, heavy testosterone injections," he shared.
While he brushed off Kutcher and Kunis’ concerns over the injections, Shepard stressed the mental benefits of his regimen.
"Forget the body; mentally I love it because it makes me far more on fire to be alive," he added. "I was depressed after (the 2017 film) 'CHIPS.' I was literally retiring, that was the plan. I'm out. Started taking testosterone… All of a sudden I was on fire to work. I was like, 'I like this version.' This is the version I enjoy."
Regardless if there are any “Avengers” offers in his future, the actor is just happy with his newly buff status.
"I spent my whole life as a medium boy, and now I'm a big boy and I like it.”
