They call it the "Happiest Place on Earth," but on Friday some Disneyland visitors were moved to tears.
The Anaheim, California theme park reopened today for the first time in some 14 months -- the longest closure for Disneyland in its 65-year history.
While thousands re-entered the park with smiles, others were seen crying through their face masks as they returned to the beloved attraction.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Disneyland closed its doors in March 2020.
The park reopened at limited capacity and to California residents only.
The park's blog reminds attendees that the resident policy remains in place and they should be prepared to show proof of their California residency in order to enter the parks.

You "may be asked to show such proof of residency, as necessary," which means you should have a California driver's license, or mail to prove your residency. There is currently no timetable on when out-of-state residents will be allowed into the park.
In addition, all Disneyland visitors and staff must wear face masks, get temperature checks, and social distance from other groups.
