Toys “R” Us is closing down its remaining two stores.

The move comes roughly a year after two final stores in New Jersey and Texas reopened, CNN notes.

The stores were under new ownership of Tru Kids. Inc, which bought the retailer in a 2018 liquidation sale.

The company noted that the COVID-19 pandemic led to the closures.

“As a result of Covid-19, we made the strategic decision to pivot our store strategy to new locations and platforms that have better traffic,” Tru Kids told the outlet.

There are no plans to reopen at this time.

Unlikes its predecessor, the updated stores focused less on selling toys and more on “interactive and playground-like environments.” The plan, which initially involved opening 10 more locations in malls, was thwarted amid pandemic mall closures.

The iconic children's toy store initially filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and shuttered all of its stores in 2018.

“Thanks to each of you who share your amazing journey to (and through) parenthood with us, and to every grandparent, aunt, uncle, brother and sister who’s built a couch-cushion rocket ship, made up a hero adventure or invented something gooey,” Toys “R” Us said in a statement in 2018. “Promise us just this one thing: Don’t ever grow up. Play on!”

More than 700 toy store locations remain open outside of the U.S.

And playtime isn’t totally over as the brand still sells products online!
