Waffle House Closes Over 400 Locations Due to Coronavirus Pandemic

ST. LOUIS, Mo (KMOX)- Waffle House is closing 418 restaurants across the U.S. because of the coronavirus and the number continues to grow.

The popular chain says over 1,500 locations will remain open.

Waffle House made the announcement on Twitter and showed a map of the locations being closed.

The restaurant chain rarely closes under any circumstances, leading to what is known the Waffle House Index, which is an unofficial emergency system used to measure the severity of a storm.
