Once the shelter in place has been lifted, there's a good possibility more people will be at airports for business travel. That's why airport officials are gearing up, doing what they can to instill confidence in travelers. At Oakland International, the airport has set up a resiliency task force.
"It's really focused on instilling confidence in the travelers that are using the airport facilities currently, as well as those that will return to the airport once restrictions are lifted," saidOakland Airport spokeswoman Keonnis Taylor.
Taylor said the airport has taken steps to ensure safety and social distancing.
"Some of the things that have been temporarily suspended are our volunteer ambassador program," said Taylor, "we've also temporarily closed down some shuttle bus services, including employee shuttle busses."
At San Jose International, there are also extra precautions being taken, with restrooms being cleaned every two hours and public signage throughout.
