Last December, Jackson the blue-eyed Australian Shepherd was stolen from a San Francisco woman.

She even hired an airplane to fly a banner over the city, offering a $7,000 reward for his safe return. Then on Monday, she received a call from a veterinary office in Los Angeles that had scanned Jackson for an identification chip.

“I just burst into tears in excitement, it was just so many emotions,” Talermo said. “Shock and joy, so much joy.”

Talermo was overwhelmed by how many people helped her finally find her dog. The San Francisco Police Department even drove roundtrip throughout the night to bring Jackson home to her early Tuesday.

“He was screaming and crying and butt-wiggling in the middle of the street at 4:00 a.m.,” Talermo said.

Jackson is healthy and happy, carrying a few extra pounds - though has yet to tell his owner where he’s been these past few months.
