Diverse Crowd Of Black Lives Matter Protesters Marches Through Marina, North Beach

White silence is violence.

That was the message Sunday afternoon as hundreds of Black Lives Matter demonstrators marched through the streets of the Marina and North Beach in San Francisco.

Most the people in attendance weren’t black themselves. 

That wasn’t lost on Michael, who is African American.

It really underlines why we all have to be out here," Allie told KCBS Radio. "As white allies, like anti-racist allies, we have to be out here to make sure our black community, their rights aren’t trampled on and you know, we’re here standing with them in solidarity and support and helping to protect them."
