"We had people who didn't want to leave their houses and worked very diligently with the Suisun City Police Department and our fire department to literally kicking in doors and getting people out," Fire Chief Justin Vincent said.

The Suisun Wildlife Rescue Center was partially damaged.

"The staff originally didn't want to leave their animals and the compromise given was that I ran back in with bolt cutters and cut the bolts on all the gates to let the foxes and the coyotes out," Vincent explained.

Mutual aid from surrounding areas assisted. Some 200 firefighters are on the scene from three different counties. CAL FIRE had two tankers in the air, dropping fire retardant. Helicopters were also in the air dropping water.

Robert Hawkins lost his home.

"My motorcycles are gone, my guitars, everything," Hawkins told KCBS Radio. "I can't even drive my car. It's all gone. I'm gonna cry."
