The long-awaited memoir for former National Security Advisor John Bolton is finally set to see book store shelves at the end of the month. The book is one of few to date by a top-level administration official. The release saw a number of delays, in part due to push back from the White House and President Donald Trump over its release.

A press release from the publisher, Simon & Schuester, offers a first look at some of the details of the much anticipated account from the advisor who spent over 450 days in the administration. "I am hard-pressed to identify an significant Trump decision during my tenure that wasn't driven by reelection calculations," writes Bolton in The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir.

Bolton reportedly tells the story of a presidency in chaos, fraught with conflict and turmoil. He covers topics from the Ukraine controversy, to upheaval in Venezuela, to showdowns at the G7 summit.

“If you don’t like turmoil, uncertainty, and risk-all the while being constantly overwhelmed with information, decisions to be made, and sheer amount of work-and enlivened by international and domestic personality and ego conflicts beyond description, try something else.” writes Bolton.

The book is set for release on June 23rd.
