SAUSALITO, CA (KCBS Radio) - Crews in Sausalito have now begun the process of cleaning up debris and damage months after heavy rain triggered a landslide on Valentine's Day, after officials worked with the federal government to be reimbursed for the costs.

Christopher Holbrook lives in the area of the slide at Main and Crescent streets. “The city was open and tried to keep us informed about the progress, even though it was slow and a lot of the neighbors here weren’t happy about that,” he said.

Holbrook said the entire episode has been inconvenient for the neighborhood, but in the grand scheme of things, an inconvenience is not so bad. “It was scary, terrifying, but in the end there were no lives lost."

One woman suffered injuries during the slide.
