The body of a dead infant was found in a San Jose recycling facility on Friday, police said.
Officers said there was a deceased baby on the conveyor belt of the GreenWaste Recovery site after getting a call about the grim discovery by workers around 3:30 a.m.
Homicide detectives, members of the Santa Clara Coroner's Office and other investigators are looking into what happened.
The coroner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death.
