There have been 90 patients across the state who have a history of vaping and been hospitalized, according to the Department of Public Health. Some had severe breathing problems and lung damage.

There have been 500 cases reported across the U.S. and at eight deaths, including two in California.

With no known specific cause to the respiratory ailments, officials said consumers should refrain from vaping marijuana and tobacco products until investigations are completed.
