Border Patrol agents have recaptured two inmates, charged with murder, who'd escaped from the Monterey County jail, authorities announced.
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office tweeted Wednesday that Santos Fonseca, 21, and Jonathan Salazar, 20, have been caught.

— Monterey Co Sheriff (@MCoSheriff) November 6, 2019Salazar had allegedly been seen Tuesday in a Motel 6 in Marina, but managed to elude officers who thought he was barricaded in his room for hours.
Salazar and Fonseca cut a hole in the ceiling of the jail's bathroom to make their break for freedom, the sheriff's office had said.
