Agreement Saves Santa Cruz Redwoods

Save the Redwoods League announced it reached an agreement to buy the Cascade Creek property in the Santa Cruz mountains.

A conservation group in San Francisco has reached an agreement to purchase Cascade Creek, a 564-acre canyon that holds one hundred acres of ancient redwood trees in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Save the Redwoods League says this move will help create a continuous corridor of protected redwood habitat stretching to the Pacific Ocean.

The land is nestled between Big Basin Redwoods and Ano Nuevo state parks.

The land will be sold for $9.6 million, according to the deal. The redwoods league has raised has raised $8.6 million.
