San Francisco will remain on the California's COVID-19 watch list for the time being.

Forty counties remain on the list, which was frozen earlier this month after a statewide data glitch was discovered.

San Diego and Placer counties have been removed from the monitoring list.

Earlier this week, Gov. Newsom announced that hospitalizations in the state are down over the past two weeks and the positivity rate has dropped slightly.
