She had one last thing to take care of before moving out of the Bay Area: finding her beloved dog Jackson.
SFPD Sergeant Destiny Anderson, who is with the department’s burglary unit and has three dogs of her own, was assigned to the case. She and another officer made the 12 hour road trip in their off duty hours to bring him home.
“Oh man it was amazing. I can’t even describe the feeling. It’s the highlight of my year… I don’t even know if I can ever top that feeling,” says Sgt. Anderson of reuniting Jackson with his owner. “I was definitely very touched. It was amazing watching him just straight bolt for her and she was very emotional, crying.”
27-year-old Nicholas Bravo of Palmdale, CA was arrested on a charge of grand theft.
“Him being turned into the shelter was not a mere coincidence,” says Sgt. Anderson. “That was definitely the direct result of our investigation.“
Jackson is a few pounds heavier and has a minor limp, but is otherwise happy and healthy.
