Norwegian Airlines has placed the picture of former San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk on one of its 787 Dreamliners.
The pioneering gay rights politician joins seven other Americans who've been featured as what the budget airline calls its series of "tail fin heroes."
The plane with the picture of Milk will fly between London's Gatwick airport and San Francisco International Airport. The first trip is scheduled for Sunday.
Milk, who launched his political career from his photography shop in the Castro, joins Mark Twain, Charles Lindbergh, Arthur Collins, Babe Ruth, Clara Barton, Sojourner Truth and Benjamin Franklin as other Americans who've been spotlighted by Norwegian.
SFO is redesigning Terminal One and it will be renamed for the slain supervisor when it reopens. d
