“Riding a bike can save you money,” Russo said at a ceremony in East Oakland on Thursday. “It can save the streets from potholes, and ultimately it can save the planet from greenhouse gas emissions. More importantly though, biking can bring you joy in your commute.”
Russo welcomes Stevenson’s vigilance as the city implements the plan. “This is bigger than bikes, and it’s bigger than Oakland.”
