Police have arrested a 21-year-old driver of a rented Tesla who they say killed a pedestrian and seriously injured the victim's wife in the Tenderloin neighborhood on Sunday.
Kelsey Cambridge of Vallejo was driving the Tesla and sped through a red light around 2 p.m. at Taylor and O'Farrell streets that slammed into a Mini Cooper, according to police.
Both cars spun out of control and the Tesla struck and killed Benjamin Dean, 39, of Clovis, authorities said. His wife Kelly Dean, who was also hit, suffered non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
The couple were celebrating their wedding anniversary, according to Kelly Dean's Facebook page.
Cambridge has been charged with involuntary vehicular manslaughter and running a red light.

Each year, 30 people are killed and 200 are injured in San Francisco traffic collisions.
